The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Austria held a reception in Vienna in honor of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic

The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Austria held a reception in Vienna in honor of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic on September 22, 2021.

Representatives of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria and other state bodies, ambassadors of foreign countries and permanent representatives to international organizations in Vienna, public and political activists, representatives of business circles and friends of Kyrgyzstan, as well as leaders of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Vienna were invited to the solemn event, held in the historic hall of the Vienna Diplomatic Academy (founded in 1754),

The guest of honor from the Kyrgyz side was the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Boobek Azhikeev, who is in Vienna to participate in the 65th General Conference of the IAEA.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Tolendy Makeyev informed the guests about the current political and socio-economic situation in Kyrgyzstan, the main points of bilateral relations with Austria and cooperation with international organizations in Vienna.

Then the Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in the federal state of Carinthia (Austria) Christine Muttonen gave a speech.

The attendees were offered a concert with songs performed by the children of the Embassy staff in Kyrgyz and German. The performance of young artists, as well as a representative of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Vienna who played komuz was greeted with enthusiasm and applause from the guests of the evening.

The invitees tasted dishes of the national Kyrgyz cuisine, viewed a photo exhibition dedicated to the solemn date, and also received booklets and leaflets on tourism opportunities and investment potential of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The official reception was accompanied by a demonstration of videos and photo slides showing the unique natural beauty of Kyrgyzstan.
