On March 1, 2023, in Bishkek, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Asein Isaev received the Regional Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for Central Asia Ashita Mittal.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UNODC in the field of strengthening the rule of law, countering drug crime, corruption and cybercrime.

The First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic positively assessed the activities of UNODC in the Kyrgyz Republic and noted that Kyrgyzstan intends to expand project and program cooperation with UNODC.

The parties agreed to continue joint work to promote projects within the ongoing UNODC mandate and organize an official visit of the UNODC leadership to Kyrgyzstan.
