The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev has a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Kyrgyz Republic Olivier Bangerter

On August 30, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev has a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Kyrgyz Republic Olivier Bangerter on the occasion of the presentation of copies of his credentials.

Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev congratulated Olivier Bangerter on his appointment to the post and wished him further success in his responsible post.

The parties discussed issues on upcoming bilateral events, including preparations for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries in 2022. Additionally, there were a discussion concerning the New strategy for cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Switzerland for the period 2022-2025. Minister R. Kazakbaev proposed to include in the Strategy projects in the field of digitalization, ecology, development of regions and the agricultural sector.

The parties noted with satisfaction the high level of Kyrgyz-Swiss relations, there was an exchange of views concerning the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation. Parties confirmed their mutual readiness to further strengthening cooperation in spheres that stands for both sides interest. Kyrgyz side expressed gratituted to the Government of Switzerland for economic and technical assistance, as well as assistance in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the end of the meeting, Minister R. Kazakbaev expressed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to strengthen bilateral trust relations and invited the Ambassador to take part in the official events realted to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, which are scheduled for August 30 and 31, 2021.
