On October 19, 2022, in Munich, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Germany Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev met with the State Secretary of the State Ministry of Economy, Land Development and Energy of Bavaria Mr. Roland Weigert, during which mutual interest in promoting trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kyrgyzstan was noted and the federal state of Bavaria and agreed to hold joint events and visits of economic delegations.

Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev noted that for Kyrgyzstan, the “Bavarian miracle” is of great interest, thanks to which Bavaria has become one of the richest, industrially and technologically developed federal states of Germany over the past 70 years from an agrarian region. He informed about the largest investment projects of the Kyrgyz Republic, first of all, on the construction of large hydroelectric power plants, the PRC-KR-RUz railway, the reconstruction of the Manas airport, and invited Bavarian business to Kyrgyzstan.

State Secretary Mr. Roland Weigert noted that the south of Germany, primarily the federal state of Bavaria, is the economic center of Germany and has new technologies and innovations, and also stressed Bavaria's interest in strengthening its trade and economic presence in Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan.

The issues of organizing a visit of the economic delegation of Bavaria headed by the State Secretary of the State Ministry of Economy, Land Development and Energy of Bavaria Mr. Roland Weigert to the Kyrgyz Republic in 2023 were agreed, as well as holding other joint events to promote cooperation in the trade and economic sphere.

During this meeting, issues of developing cooperation on systematic employment at the enterprises of Bavaria of specialists from Kyrgyzstan were also discussed.

At the same time, on October 18 in Munich, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev met with the leadership of the largest company in Bavaria in the service sector "Sasse" (more than 6.5 thousand employees) and discussed the possibilities of attracting specialists of various professions from the Kyrgyz Republic to Germany.

In addition, at the suggestion of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Germany, work is underway to cooperate in the field of employment of nurses from the Kyrgyz Republic in the clinic in Munich (more than 3 thousand employees) through the EDUVISO Company, which since 2019 has been training medical specialists in Kyrgyzstan for work in Germany.

For reference: The federal state of Bavaria is the most developed in Germany, with a GDP of more than 661.5 billion euros (2021). In the 50s of the 20th century, Bavaria was a completely agricultural region, but today the share of agriculture is over 1% of the total GDP of Bavaria. More than 20% of the world's leading companies are also of Bavarian origin - Siemens, Adidas, Audi, BMW, Airbus, MAN, etc. At the same time, the foundation of the economy of Bavaria, like the whole of Germany, is small and medium-sized enterprises. The dual education system of industrial training has become a success story for small and medium-sized businesses. The Bavarian government provides support on its territory to the activities of 17 clusters in high-tech industries and traditional sectors of the economy.
