On November 25, 2022, in Iphofen of the Federal State of Bavaria, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Germany Mr. O.Tekebaev and the Executive Manager CIS countries of the “Knauf” company Mr. Alexander Blumhardt. The meeting was attended by one of the company's leaders, the General Partner of Knauf Dr. Uwe Knotzer. The meeting was held as part of the Embassy's activities to attract German investors to the economy of Kyrgyzstan and discuss the issues of training highly qualified personnel for the country's economy together with German companies.

A.Blumhardt informed Ambassador Mr. O.Tekebaev about the activities of the “Knauf” company, which is a world-famous large German company producing building materials: drywall, flooring, plaster and facades under the “Knauf” brand. The company's products are known and widely represented also in Kyrgyzstan.

A.Blumhardt provided detailed information on the ongoing educational projects of the “Knauf” company in Kyrgyzstan, within the framework of which the company, in cooperation with universities and technical lyceums in Bishkek and Osh, is working on the training and retraining of construction specialists and upon completion they are issued an appropriate certificate. These specialists are being trained to ensure the domestic market in Kyrgyzstan.

Ambassador Mr. O. Tekebaev discussed with representatives of the company the possibilities of cooperation between “Knauf” and Kyrgyzstan. During the meeting, the above representatives of the company noted the high quality of gypsum deposits in the Central Asian region, including in Kyrgyzstan, and expressed their readiness to work together with Kyrgyzstan. The parties also discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of the Kyrgyz-German Business Council, established in 2022, as well as the participation of representatives of the “Knauf” company in joint Kyrgyz-German business forums.

At the end of the meeting, a tour of the “Knauf” plant for the production of building materials was organized.
