On February 15, 2023, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev met with an employee of the GW 1 Department for archival policy, strategic planning and management support, international relations of the Federal Archives of Germany Ms. Angela Abmayer. The purpose of the meeting was to get acquainted with the activities of the Federal Archives of Germany and the possibility of establishing cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Federal Archives permanently stores various documents such as maps, photographs, films and sound recordings in analog and digital form from various periods in German history, from 1495 to the present. Among the archival materials there are also materials relating to Kyrgyzstan of various periods of past centuries.

During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between the Federal Archives of Germany and archival departments and institutions of history in the Kyrgyz Republic were discussed.
