On April 29, 2023, the next annual football tournament for the "Challenge Cup" among Kyrgyzstanis living in Europe was held in Cologne.

The football tournament, organized by activists and leaders of the Kyrgyz diaspora of the Federal Land of North Rhine-Westphalia, was attended by 21 teams from various cities in Germany, as well as 7 neighboring European countries: Great Britain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Denmark.

Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany, and Head of the Secretariat of the Council for Migration, Compatriots and Diaspora Issues under the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Meder Rahman took part in the grand opening of this sports event.

In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev emphasized the importance of the ongoing event aimed at uniting and uniting the Kyrgyz people living not only in Germany, but throughout Europe. Noting the special role of compatriots in the development of relations between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Germany, Omurbek Tekebaev wished success to all participants of the event and expressed gratitude to the organizer of the tournament, headed by Bubina Cholponkulova.

On the fields of the football tournament, various national games were also organized for children and all those present at the event, as well as Kyrgyz national dishes and drinks were presented for treats.
