On May 5, 2022, an event dedicated to the  30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and the Caspian region, including Central Asia, was  held in Washington.

The panel was attended by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Diplomacy Laura Lochman, as well as Ambassadors of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.

The main topic of the event was the discussion of cooperation between the United States and the countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia over the past 30 years, as well as internal political processes in the Caspian region.

The forum participants focused on international energy security and economic cooperation  of the participating countries.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Bakyt Amanbayev shared his views on  the successes and achievements of U.S. cooperation with the Caspian and Central Asian regions over the past 30 years.

Also in his speech, B. Amanbayev noted that Kyrgyzstan is ready to search for new, mutually beneficial solutions in order to attract American business in all areas from hydropower to information technology: "My country is aimed at creating the most comfortable conditions for foreign business and a vivid evidence of this was the recent settlement agreement between the Government of Kyrgyzstan and Canadian gold mining company “Centerra Gold”.

The Head of the diplomatic mission of Kyrgyzstan expressed his gratitude to colleagues from the Caspian Policy Center for their efforts in the name of rapprochement of countries and peoples and once again congratulated the Center on  its 30th anniversary.
