On April 5, 2023, Ambassador Bakyt Amanbayev met with representatives of the U.S. Department of State, led by Mr.Weinhold, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

The meeting included an extensive exchange of views on the level of bilateral educational cooperation between the U.S. and the Kyrgyz Republic and ways to improve it, as well as a discussion of areas for future cooperation. The U.S. side provided detailed information about the various programs conducted and implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic in recent years.

Ambassador Amanbaev talked about the government reforms in the country and the priorities and needs of the Kyrgyz Republic's education system. The Ambassador noted that improving education is a top priority for every country and asked to consider increasing the number of scholarships for various educational programs, as well as new projects to improve English language skills in schools in the regions. Bakyt Amanbaev also shared his suggestions for strengthening and increasing student, teacher, scholar and student exchange programs with the Kyrgyz Republic and launching new ones in this direction.

The U.S. side shared its thoughts on improving the proposed educational project and agreed to work together in the future to strengthen educational cooperation between the two countries.
