On May 31, 2019, in Washington, D.C., Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA Dr. Bolot Otunbaev took part in the meeting of Heads of diplomatic missions of Central Asian States with Mr. Zalmay Khalilzad, U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation.

Issues of regional security, as well as the role of Central Asian countries in promoting peace and stability in Afghanistan, both bilaterally and through international efforts, have been discussed during the meeting. 

The meeting participants also exchanged views on the prospects for the economic and cultural integration of the Central Asian region with Afghanistan.
