Kyrgyz citizens living in the United States celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic for two days. The event was held on September 2-3, 2023, near Pittsburgh. More than 3,000 Kyrgyz citizens from different US states attended the event. Baktybek Amanbaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA, officially opened the event and congratulated the audience on behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov. In his speech, the Ambassador elaborated on the meaning and essence of independence, emphasizing that every citizen, along with representatives of the highest branches of government, should strengthen independence. He expressed the opinion that every Kyrgyz citizen should try to promote the Kyrgyz language, history, traditions, customs, and national games by educating future generations and showcasing these advantages to foreigners. Furthermore, Baktybek Amanbaev discussed the measures taken by Kyrgyz authorities and the Kyrgyz Embassy concerning citizens in America.

The Independence Day celebration lasted for two days. On the first day, there were mutual competitions in 12 different sports. Among the national games, competitions were held for games such as ordo, arm wrestling, tug-of-war, toguz korgool, kyrgyz wrestling, as well as soccer, tennis, and volleyball. On the second day, a business forum of businessmen living in the USA was organized. The Ambassador participated in the forum, delivered a speech, and answered participants' questions. Following the forum, a decision was made to establish an association of Kyrgyz businessmen in America in the nearest future. The results of the sports competitions were announced on September 3rd by Ambassador Baktybek Amanbaev, who presented valuable gifts to the winners and special commendations from the Embassy to those who contributed to the organization of the event.
