On January 31, 2020 the United States of America imposed immigrant and diversity visa restrictions that suspend the entry of Kyrgyz immigrants in order to protect the security and welfare of the United States. The U.S. Government continues to issue nonimmigrant visas for other purposes, such as tourism, business, students and exchanges.

Due to the information of the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek the Presidential Proclamation imposing immigrant and diversity visa restrictions does not apply to individuals who are present in the United States or who had a valid visa on January 31. No immigrant or diversity visas will be revoked.
