On May 9, 2020, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the USA and Canada took part in celebrations dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in World War II.

In connection with the epidemiological situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA and Canada Bolot Otunbayev and employees of the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission took part in the "Immortal Regiment" online campaign with the participation of WWII veterans and participants of the Second World War, representatives of Armenian Embassies , Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as from 26 US cities and 4 European cities.
The participants traditionally honored with a minute of silence the memory of Soviet soldiers who heroically fought on the battlefield against fascism and delivered solemn speeches.
