On May 10, 2023 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz-French political consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.

The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by the Director of the Third Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Bakyt Dzhusupov, the French delegation was headed by the Deputy Director of the Department of Continental Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic Mr. Sylvain Guiauogue.

During the consultations, a wide range of topics were discussed, including political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The parties reaffirmed their mutual intention to develop bilateral political dialogue through the organization of mutual visits at high and highest levels.

During the exchange of views, special attention was paid to the matters of building up economic and investment cooperation. In particular, the parties noted the need for joint work on organizing a business forum in 2023, as well as establishing cooperation in the field of energy, tourism and water management between the Kyrgyz Republic and France.

Interaction within the framework of Central Asia, as well as cooperation through the EU have also been discussed.

The parties stated their interest in continuing close foreign policy coordination within such international structures as the UN, OSCE and UNESCO.

The parties reaffirmed their intention to continue an open and mutually respectful dialogue across the entire spectrum of development of bilateral relations.
