Meeting of Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev with Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to the Republic of Turkey.

Parties discussed issues of cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas.

Marking 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between countries, the Foreign Ministers noted with satisfaction holding of the 5th meeting of the Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation and the need for consistent practical implementation of the achievements achieved between the Heads of State.

Ruslan Kazakbaev stressed that since October 2020, a number of important issues have been resolved between the countries and noted the importance of further expanding industrial cooperation, creating joint ventures, developing business relations in the agricultural sector, as well as in textile, mining, hydropower and other spheres.

He also stressed the need to implement significant projects that meet the economic potential of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, adding that the parties should make every effort to bring trade volume between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey to $ 1 billion.

At the same time, Ruslan Kazakbaev noted with satisfaction the high level of cultural and humanitarian activity and expressed the willingness of the Kyrgyz side to share experience and assist in organizing the 4th World Nomad Games.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu noted the constructive dialogue between the two Ministers and expressed further interest of the Turkish side in building up close ties with Kyrgyzstan, promoting issues in all areas of joint cooperation.

The parties spoke in favor of deepening cooperation and coordination in such areas as foreign policy, defense and security, economy, trade, science and industry, transport, energy, environment and urbanism, health care, food security, agriculture and animal husbandry, education, culture, tourism and sports. In this context, the parties agreed to make maximum use of bilateral and multilateral mechanisms.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual readiness to further develop bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
