Also at this event, a collection of Kyrgyz folk tales was presented, translated into Ukrainian on the initiative of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine.

In the novel of Ch. Aitmatov "When the mountains fall (Eternal Bride)" the best traditions of the writer are reflected. It raises the global problems of our time, touches on eternal philosophical themes. Aitmatov's mastery lies in the fact that his ideas permeate the entire structure of the work, like threads, pass through all its constituent parts.

The main action of the novel takes place high in the Tian-Shan mountains, where the tragic paths of two suffering creatures, human and the snow leopard, intersect. Both are victims of time, victims of circumstances, hostages of their own destiny. The desire for revenge leads the protagonist Arsen Samanchin, a famous journalist, to his native village, where a hunt for snow leopards is organized for Saudi oil magnates. The hero arrives in the mountains, not yet knowing that he will meet here his last love, and, perhaps, death. Arsen Samanchin - our contemporary, by the will of fate entered into an unequal battle. If you think about it in our society at present, Arsenov is very much. And the fate of the snow leopard, which runs far high into the mountains from people, is a very topical issue today. Look around because a person, every day with his various actions causes damage to the environment and ecology.

In the story “White cloud of Genghis Khan” Ch. Aitmatov drew a parallel between the life of an ordinary person and the life of Genghis Khan. It should be noted that this story was part of the novel “And the Day Lasts a Century”, however, due to the ideology at that time, it was not included in the book’s content, since it describes the oppression of those in power with respect to prisoners of war. In the story “Date of the Son,” the author focused on a highly topical subject of the post-war period, when World War II ended and many fathers and mothers lost their children on the battlefield. But the main character, the old man Chordon, all the time seems that his son is alive and he is talking to him.

Thus, Ch. Aitmatov tries in his works to convey to the reader the idea that humanity must find in itself the ability not only to realize the tragic possibility of its death, but this consciousness must lead to a new way of life, to a new type of thinking.

Dear book lovers, I am sure that each of you will receive only positive emotions and will be able to extract for themselves something useful from the works of the great writer Ch. Aitmatov.
