At 18th of December was held a ceremony of award winners of the All-Ukrainian competition-exhibition of children's drawings on the theme: “Pages of books of Chingiz Aytmatov”, which was announced this spring on the initiative of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine in conjunction with the National Library of Ukraine for Children in honor of the 90th anniversary of the great writer Ch. Aytmatov.

At 18th of December was held a ceremony of award winners of the All-Ukrainian competition-exhibition of children's drawings on the theme: “Pages of books of Chingiz Aytmatov”, which was announced this spring on the initiative of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine in conjunction with the National Library of Ukraine for Children in honor of the 90th anniversary of the great writer Ch. Aytmatov.

The awards ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Union of Artists of Ukraine, the Library System of Ukraine, the winners and their parents, intellectuals, experts and lovers of creative work of Ch. Aytmatov, as well as compatriots living in Kiev.

In total, more than 4,000 participants from all over Ukraine took part in the competition, among which 144 works were selected and the winners in three different age categories were determined. The winners were awarded with certificates for a trip to the Kyrgyz Republic, diplomas, valuable prizes and gifts.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Ukraine Zh.Sharipov in congratulatory speech spoke about the uniqueness of the creative work of Ch.Aytmatov and the peculiarities of his works. Ambassador     Zh. Sharipov noted that he was pleasantly surprised by a large number of participants, interest and love for the creative work of Ch. Aytmatov among Ukrainian children, in each work the participants were able to convey the content of a work by Ch. Aytmatov.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine Zh.Sharipov wished the winners the good health, academic success, the development of creative talent and presented as a gift the works of Ch. Aytmatov to the National Library of Ukraine for Children (“When the mountains fall”, “Date with the son”, “White cloud of Chenghis Khan's”,“ Cassandra Brand”), as well as Kyrgyz folk tales, which were first time translated into Ukrainian.
