On the instructions from the Heads of states of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan regarding the early settlement of the armed conflict on the border areas of the Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan, within the framework of the agreements reached by the Heads of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, on April 29, 2021, at the Kyzyl-Bel (Kyrgyzstan) - Guliston (Tajikistan) checkpoint a working meeting was held between representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan in the following composition:

- from the Kyrgyz side: Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic O.Suvanaliev, First Deputy Chairman - Director of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic U.Sharsheev, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic S.Omurzakov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic A.Shamenov;

- from the Tajik side: Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan S.Yatimov, First Deputy - Commander of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan R.Rahmonali, Chairman of the Sughd Region of the Republic of Tajikistan R.Akhmadzoda.

During the meeting, the Parties, based on good-neighborly relations and previously adopted interstate agreements and understandings, came to a mutual agreement on the following issues:

1. The cessation of hostilities in the border areas of the Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan from 19:30 on April 29 this year, Bishkek time (from 18:30 on April 29 of this year, Dushanbe time);

2. Withdrawal of troops and military equipment from the border areas of the Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan to the places of their permanent deployment;

3. Continuation of the negotiation process to stabilize the situation in the border areas of the Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan;

4. Creation of a joint working group from among the employees of law enforcement agencies and executive authorities of the two countries in order to implement the planned measures and create appropriate stabilizing conditions for further fruitful negotiation process in the interests of the two friendly peoples and states.

As a result of the meeting, the Parties adopted a joint statement and signed the Protocol of the meeting.
