On 15 January 2021, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE, Ambassador Bakyt Dzhusupov met with the newly appointed Director of
the OSCE ODIHR Matteo Mecacci in Vienna.
Permanent Representative B.Dzhusupov expressed gratitude to the ODIHR mission for its active participation in the process of observing the presidential
elections and the referendum in the Kyrgyz Republic, held on January 10 of this year. He expressed the willingness of the kyrgyz side to continue further cooperation with the ODIHR in improving the electoral process. Briefly informed about the preliminary results of the elections and the referendum. Drew attention to the fact that there will also be held constitutional reform and parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic this year.
Taking this opportunity, B.Dzhusupov has invited M. Mecacci to visit the Kyrgyz Republic in a new capacity.
In his turn, the ODIHR Director M.Mecacci expressed his gratitude to the Kyrgyz authorities for inviting the ODIHR mission and assistance in organizing
meetings in the Kyrgyz Republic. He advocated for the continuation and extension of cooperation. M.Mecacci noted the importance of the national priorities of the Kyrgyz Republic and expressed his readiness to provide support within the framework of the ODIHR's mandate.
