On 26 January 2021, the online meeting between the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE, Ambassador Bakyt Dzhusupov and the newly appointed OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities (HCNM) Kairat Abdrakhmanov took place.

The issues of interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and the HCNM, including the implementation of joint projects were discussed during the meeting. The support and assistance of the HCNM office for the implementation of the Concept for the development of civil identity – “Кыргыз жараны”, as well as for the issues of multilingual and multicultural education in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2020-2023 were pointed out.

Permanent Representative B.Dzhusupov informed about the new status of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan, which returned under the patronage of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. He noted the role of the Assembly in the consolidation of various ethnic groups in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In his turn, the HCNM K.Abdrakhmanov noted the existing positive experience of interaction and fruitful cooperation between the HCNM and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The parties expressed their readiness to continue joint efforts on the implementation of relevant projects with the support of the HCNM.
