About the meeting of the Ambassador B.Dzhusupov with the OSCE PA Special Representative R.Lopatka

On 5 May 2021, the meeting between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Austria Bakyt Dzhusupov and Member of the National Council of Austria, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Special Representative for Central Asia Reinhold Lopatka took place in Vienna.

The parties have discussed issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary interaction, including cooperation within the framework of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. B.Dzhusupov expressed gratitude to the interlocutor for the active participation of the OSCE PA mission headed by R.Lopatka in the presidential elections and referendum, which took place in Kyrgyzstan on January this year.

During the conversation, B.Dzhusupov also has informed the parliamentarian in detail about the current situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, casualties and destructions during the armed conflict, and activities of a joint working group, which was established from among law enforcement representatives and executive authorities of two countries with the aim of implementing appropriate stabilizing measures for the further fruitful negotiation process. He reiterated the constant adherence of the Kyrgyz side to international bilateral and multilateral commitments.

R.Lopatka has noted the outlined progress in the peaceful settlement of the arisen conflict with satisfaction and called on the parties to resolve the existing disputes exclusively by political and diplomatic means.
