About telephone conversation between the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE and the OSCE Secretary-General.

On 1 May 2021, a telephone conversation between the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the International Organizations in Vienna Bakyt Dzhusupov and the OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid took place in Vienna.

During the conversation, B.Dzhusupov informed the Secretary General in detail about the current situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the agreements reached, including at the level of heads of states, a ceasefire, withdrawal of troops and military equipment and the intention of the parties to resolve the situation exclusively through negotiations. He reiterated the constant adherence of the Kyrgyz side to international bilateral and multilateral commitments.

In her turn, the Secretary General noted that the situation on the border and the death of civilians is alarming, while the OSCE welcomes the agreement on a ceasefire and a peaceful settlement of the situation. She expressed her readiness to provide comprehensive support.
