About telephone conversation between the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE and the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.

On 30 April 2021, a telephone conversation between the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the International Organizations in Vienna Bakyt Dzhusupov and the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov took place in Vienna.

During the conversation, B.Dzhusupov informed the HCNM about the current situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the agreements reached on a ceasefire and the intention of the parties to settle the conflict exclusively through negotiations. At the same time, he expressed a request to assist in the implementation of projects for the rehabilitation and restoration of confidence-building measures among the local population and ethnic groups in the border regions affected by the conflict.

In his turn, the High Commissioner welcomed the agreements reached on a ceasefire and a peaceful settlement of the situation. He expressed the readiness of his Office to provide appropriate support within the mandate of the HCNM.
