On March 8, 2024, with the assistance of the Embassy, a Kyrgyz-Austrian round table on tourism was held at the Federal Economic Chamber of the Republic of Austria in Vienna.

The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic consisting of 25 people was headed by the Director of the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic N.B.Minbaev. The round table was attended by heads of leading travel companies and tour operators of the country, headed by the President of the Kyrgyz Association of Tourist Organizations Saltanant Midin kyzy.

The Austrian side was represented by the Regional Director for Southeast Europe, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Federal Economic Chamber of Austria Cosima Steiner, Chairman of the Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators of Austria Gregor Kadanka, Honorary Consuls of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Federal regions of Upon Austria and Carinthia W.Bremberger and K.Muttonen, as well as the representatives of diverse travel companies in Austria.

During the round table, the Kyrgyz side presented the tourism potential of the Kyrgyz Republic with the screening of videos, the heads of travel agencies from various regions of the Kyrgyz Republic made meaningful presentations that aroused great interest of their Austrian colleagues.

The Austrian side, in its turn, shared information about the strategy and main directions of tourism development in Austria. The round table ended with B2B meetings, where opportunities for further development of practical cooperation and implementation of joint projects in the field of tourism were considered, including through mutual study tours to the federal regions of Austria to establish partnerships between specific regions of the two countries.

The first visit of the Austrian partners to the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of tourism will take place in mid-April this year.
