On November 26, 2021, an online business forum Trade & Investment Opportunities Between Kyrgyzstan&India- Post Covid-19”was held.

The business forum was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic in India Asein Isaev, Deputy Director General of the Indian Federation of Export Organizations Ashish Jane, Deputy Director of the Sixth Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Rakhman Adanov, Director of the Department of External Relations and Projects Promotion of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic K. Bekov, Head of the Department for the Development of the Agro-Food Value Added Chain of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz RepublicU.Chekirbayev, Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Z.Arsma, Specialist of the Investment Support Department, Investment and Development Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz RepublicE.Bazarbayeva and more than 100 Indian enterprises from various sectors.

Ambassador A. Isaev in his speech noted that FIEO has very wide opportunities to strengthen business relations and called for further cooperation. He briefly informed about the possibilities of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of creating joint ventures and the prospects for their work with the markets of the EU, EAEU and WTO. He emphasized the importance of strengthening transport connectivity between our countries, including through the ports of Chabahar, Bandar Abbas and the North-South road.

FIEO was established in 1965 by the Ministry of Commerce of India in order to consolidate the efforts of all stakeholders in promoting the country's exports. More than 35 thousand various trade and industrial organizations in India are members of the Organization. There are 17 offices in various cities in India. FIEO directly and indirectly serves the interests of over 200,000 exporters from all industries and services from India.

Representatives of ministries and departments of Kyrgyz Republic made presentations on the investment climate, export opportunities, agriculture, the energy sector, and tourism. The participants were interested in the possibilities of cooperation in the field of the chemical industry, export/import of agricultural products, the sector of providing services, etc. After the session of questions and answers, the main areas of mutual interest were identified and participants agreed to maintain contacts. To consolidate the results of the forum, parties reached agreement to organize a visit of a business delegation from India to the Kyrgyz Republic in the first half of 2022 to strengthen cooperation in such areas as: pharmaceuticals, textiles, tourism, agriculture, energy, etc.

It should also be noted that the number of forum participants and the agreements reached on organizing the visit of the Indian business delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic indicates a real interest of Indian business in cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic.
