Tourist Road show of Kyrgyzstan held in India

On January 15, 2020 Tourist Road Show was organized in New Delhi by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in India jointly with the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

As part of this event, Director of the Department of Tourism Maksat Damir uulu made a country presentation on the tourism potential of the Kyrgyz Republic and stressed in his speech that the Kyrgyz Republic today makes every possible effort to significantly increase the number of tourists in the Kyrgyz Republic, and India is the third country in the world on outbound tourism after China and the USA.

Ambassador Isaev, in turn, emphasized that the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in India is always open for cooperation as a partner for travel agencies planning to attract Indian tourists, including investment in the tourism industry of Kyrgyzstan.

He also noted that tourism is one of the priority areas in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of Kyrgyzstan is working on further development of the tourism industry in the Kyrgyz Republic. Mr. Isaev spoke about the intensification of work on the positive image of Kyrgyzstan as a country favorable for tourism, improvement of tourism infrastructure, etc.

Rajan Sehgal, a member of the steering committee of the Association of Travel Agents of India (TAAI) and president of the Indian Golf Tourism Association (IGTA), noted that the leaders of the two countries showed mutual interest in creating and improving conditions in sectors focused on mutual trade and investment.

Another feature of the tourist “road show” was the performance of Bollywood producer Amit Aggarwal, as well as Bollywood actor Srman Jayn about the experience of filming a film and music videos in Kyrgyzstan.

In total, the event was attended by about 30 major leading tourist companies of India, who showed an active interest in establishing business contacts between the tourism sectors of Kyrgyzstan and India.

Travel companies such as “C.A.T. Company”, “East West Travel”, “Travel Land Kyrgyzstan”, “Rayan Tour”, as well as the Association of Resorts of Kyrgyzstan took part from the domestic tourism business.

The embassy organized a corner of the Kyrgyz Republic, where each guest of the event could taste the traditional sweets and dried fruits brought from Kyrgyzstan.

It should be noted that after this road show, the Embassy began to actively receive requests from Indian travel companies interested in further cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the tourism sector.
