On December 3, 2020, Ambassador Asein Isaev met with the Permanent Commissioner of the Government of the State of Sikkim A.Chand in New Delhi.

During the meeting, the Parties discussed issues of mutual cooperation in the field of ecology and growing organic products, as well as ways to promote organic products from Kyrgyzstan to the Indian market.

The Parties also agreed to consider the possibility of interaction in other areas.

 

For reference: Sikkim is the only state in India where only organic products are produced. In 2018, Sikkim received a UN award for being the first state in the world to grow only organic products.

Sikkim's leadership strategy is to produce more vegetables from less land, water sustainably, and less pesticides, which is less harmful to the soil, the environment and consumers.
