On April 26, 2022, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the State of Kuwait Azamat Karagulov met with the Deputy General Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the State of Kuwait, Mr. Emad Al-Zaid.

During the conversation, Ambassador A. Karagulov highlighted the activities of the Embassy in El Kuwait and noted economic diplomacy and the tasks of expanding trade and economic ties with Kuwait as its main areas. He spoke about the completion of the certification of food products from Kyrgyzstan in Kuwait, the successful experience in the supply of lamb, trout and honey, and in general, the wide opportunities for the private sector of the two countries in connection with the opening of direct flights from Kuwait to Bishkek and Osh.

In turn, Deputy General Director E. Al-Zaid spoke about the tasks of Kuwait to ensure food security and diversify food supplies and, in this regard, he expressed particular interest in importing meat, seasonal fruits and vegetables from Kyrgyzstan. In addition, he expressed interest in the products of the Kyrgyz clothing industry, and in particular in products made from natural wool, leather, cotton and silk.

Along with this, an exchange of views took place regarding the timing of the visit of the delegation of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Bishkek and the holding of a meeting between business circles specializing in the supply of food products. At the same time, E. Al-Zaid welcomed the visit of the Kyrgyz delegation of manufacturers to Kuwait, assuring them of their readiness to organize a special exhibition-fair of products, as well as assist in the opening of a permanent Kyrgyz showroom in Kuwait.
