On November 2, 2021, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the State of Kuwait, Azamat Karagulov, met with the Minister of Interior of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al Sabah, in order discuss topical issues of bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador A. Karagulov briefed the Minister on the current level of development of Kyrgyz-Kuwaiti relations, the results achieved and the long-term plans of the parties. He also spoke about the tasks to intensify ties through the Ministries of Interior of the two states and preparation for signing a bilateral agreement between the Ministries of Interior of the two countries within the framework of the planned visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Kuwait.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kuwait, Sheikh Tamer Al Sabah, gave active efforts to the Embassy and expressed readiness for close interbodies cooperation. At the same time, he noted as a priority the need for joint actions to combat terrorism and extremism, money laundering and suppression of financial terrorist organizations.

During the conversation, the parties also discussed the prospects for including the Kyrgyz Republic in the list of states whose citizens can apply for a Kuwait visa online. At the end of the meeting, Ambassador A. Karagulov expressed the openness of the Kyrgyz side to Kuwait's security initiatives, and also invited Sheikh Tamer Ali Al Sabah to visit Kyrgyzstan.
