On May 22, 2023, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Hungary Talantbek Kushchubekov met with Rector of Óbuda University Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Vice Rector of Óbuda University András Molnár, Vice Rector for Education and International Coordinator for Central Asia of Óbuda University Monika Pogácnik and Head of International Department of Óbuda University Victoria Troferner-Gulyás.

During the meeting, Ambassador T. Kushchubekov briefly discussed current issues of the bilateral agenda in the field of education, including the participation of Kyrgyz students in the "Stipendium Hungaricum" program. Ambassador T. Kushchubekov also welcomed the signing of a Memorandum of cooperation on renewable energy between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and Óbud University.

In addition, the Kyrgyz diplomat noted with satisfaction the results of the First Kyrgyz-Hungarian rectors’ conference, which was held on February 12-14 of this year in Budapest during the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N. Zhaparov to Hungary. Ambassador T. Kushchubekov expressed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to further strengthen and develop inter-university cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary.

Following, the Rector of Óbuda University Prof. Dr. L. Kovacs informed Kyrgyz side about the activities of the university, as well as shared the results of his visit to the Kyrgyz Republic in April 2023, during which he met with the rectors of Kyrgyz universities, as well as with the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic T. Ibraev. Prof. Dr. L. Kovacs expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive assistance in the implementation of joint projects and activities aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, in particular in the field of educational programs, development of a medium-term energy strategy.   

Then Ambassador T. Kushchubekov met with Kyrgyz students that are studying at Óbuda University and talked with them about the current state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Hungarian bilateral relations, as well as briefly touched upon important aspects of educational cooperation between the countries.
