On June 6-7, 2024, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Hungary organized a two-day trip for students from Kyrgyzstan studying at Hungarian universities to the Lakitelek Folk Institute, at the invitation of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, Sándor Lezsák.

During the official opening, the Kyrgyz students were welcomed by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, Sándor Lezsák, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Hungary, Talantbek Kushchubekov, and the Advisor on Sports Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Márton Gör-Nagy.

Deputy Speaker Sándor Lezsák noted that Hungary attaches great importance to maintaining and deepening brotherly relations with Kyrgyzstan on the principles of mutual trust and respect. He emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary are connected by historical, geographical, and cultural roots, which form a solid foundation for expanding and strengthening friendly relations.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador T. Kushchubekov expressed gratitude to Deputy Speaker Sándor Lezsák for his personal contribution to the development of friendly relations between the countries and for inviting Kyrgyz students to visit the Lakitelek Folk Institute. The Ambassador stressed that the Kyrgyz side is taking all measures to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, including within the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program.

As part of the two-day event, the Lakitelek Folk Institute organized introductory lectures on the history and culture of Hungary, as well as field trips to cultural complexes in the city of Lakitelek. In turn, the students made a presentation about Kyrgyzstan and a concert program for the guests and participants of the event.
