On April 28, 2022, the Launch Ceremony of the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development will be held online.
For reference: At the initiative of Kyrgyzstan, on December 16, 2021, during the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, a resolution was adopted declaring 2022 the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development.
The resolution on the international year of sustainable mountain development was adopted unanimously by all UN member states. Moreover, 93 states acted as co-sponsors of this document.
Opening ceremony of the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development
This global high-level event will be a chance to kick off the celebrations of the Year and promote global commitments the protection of vulnerable mountain ecosystems and the building towards resilience of mountain peoples.
