On January 18, 2023, in Riyadh, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov met with the His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al-Saud, Governor of Riyadh Province.

At the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the bilateral events held in 2022 at various levels in the capitals in the territory of the two countries. In particular, mutual official visits of foreign ministers, Inter-MFA political consultations, visits of inter-parliamentary friendship groups, the Kyrgyz-Saudi business forum, an exhibition-fair of Kyrgyz goods, the Third meeting of the Joint Kyrgyz-Saudi Committee for cooperation, including the first visit of high level military delegation of the KSA to Bishkek city in January this year.

The parties paid special attention to the development of trade and economic cooperation, the promotion of bilateral tourism and business contacts, the holding of mutual trade fairs and exhibitions, as well as of opening direct flights.

Based on the growing centuries-old cooperation between the two countries and taking into account mutual interest, Ambassador U.Maripov and His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al-Saud emphasized the importance of establishing sister city ties between the cities of Bishkek and Riyadh, which will help strengthen the friendship of both cities.

In this regard, the parties agreed to continue close coordinated work to finalize the draft Agreement on the establishment of sister city relations between the Mayor's Office of Bishkek and the Municipality of Riyadh.

In conclusion, Ambassador U.Maripov, on behalf of the Mayor of Bishkek, invited the Governor of Riyadh Province, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al-Saud, to visit the Kyrgyz Republic at a convenient time for him.
