On January 20 2023 Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Kazakhstan Dastan Diushekeev held a meeting with the Director of the Department for Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Akatayev and the Deputy Committee of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs T. Takhtanov. At the meeting, topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the consular sphere were discussed, in particular, during the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the new migration rules that will come into force in Kazakhstan from January 27, in relation to citizens of the EAEU countries.

During the above-mentioned meeting, Ambassador D. Diushekeev was informed about the new procedure for calculating the periods of stay for citizens of the EAEU countries, the abolition of the existing practice of resetting the periods of stay and other innovations in legislation in the migration field.

At the same time, on a number of separate issues of the legal stay of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who make regular visits to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh side promised to provide additional information.

Summing up the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold close contact on prompt response and resolution of emerging issues.
