On June 28, 2022, in Seoul, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea Aida Ismailova held a meeting with the World Taekwondo President Mr. Chungwon Choue.

The World Taekwondo President noted that the sportsmen of the Kyrgyz national team were invited to the Asian Taekwondo Championship. He expressed the hope that the Kyrgyz Republic will soon raise and educate future Olympic champions in taekwondo.

The Ambassador noted that the Kyrgyz Republic focuses on the development of sports in the country and, in turn, invited the World Taekwondo President to take part in the development of taekwondo in Kyrgyzstan and assist talented sportsmen, the youth of Kyrgyzstan in realizing their dream of becoming Olympic champions in Taekwondo.

The parties expressed mutual interest in the development of Kyrgyz-Korean relations in the field of sports, and also noted the importance of exchanging experience, in particular, qualified coaching staff. Issues of interaction and support for the development of taekwondo in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the preparation of the national team of Kyrgyzstan for the Asian, World and Olympic Games 2024 were discussed.
