Kyrgyz Ambassador discusses the possibility of implementing infrastructure projects with the Chairman of the International Association of Contractors of Korea

On February 14, 2020, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea Dinara Kemelova met with the Chairman of the International Association of Contractors (IСAK) of Korea, Mr. Lee Kun-ki.

The parties discussed implementation of projects, including the construction of national projects like the Kambar-Ata Hydroelectric Power Station-1, construction of trade and logistics centers in the border areas, including the FEZ, as well as the Korean side’s participation in the construction of hotels in Issyk Kul lake and the modernization of regional airports.

D.Kemelova also proposed the participation of the Korean side in improving tourism infrastructure.

The Head of IСAK, Mr. Lee Kun-ki, noted the great interest in Kyrgyzstan, warmly recalling his visit to Kyrgyzstan, expressed his willingness to assist in attracting investment by Korean companies in our country. He also supported the idea of establishing ties between Kyrgyz and Korean companies through the organization of business forums. Due to the announcement of 2020 as the “Year of Northern Economic Cooperation”, the Korean side has planned events in the Republic of Korea with the participation of Kyrgyzstan.
