On April 15, 2022, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Türkiye Mr. Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye Mr. Mehmet Muş.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, the implementation of the Action Plan of the 10th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Joint Economic Commission on trade and economic cooperation and the holding of the 11th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Joint Economic Commission in autumn 2022.

Ambassador Omuraliev informed about the export opportunities of Kyrgyzstan and the European Union’s GSP+ and other programs.

Taking into account the high customs duties for the import of goods from the Kyrgyz Republic into Türkiye, the Ambassador expressed a request to provide assistance in reducing rates for the export of Kyrgyz products to Türkiye, including honey, beans, meat, etc.

Minister Muş,  expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the presentation of Kyrgyz export products, including honey, and noted that he would consider the possibility of importing products from Kyrgyzstan.
