On July 2, 2020, a charter flight of Pegasus Airlines was carried out along the Istanbul-Bishkek route from the Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, on which 232 Kyrgyz citizens were returned to our homeland.

The Embassy and the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul had previously prepared lists of citizens and worked out other organizational issues, including negotiations with the relevant authorities of the Republic of Turkey and Turkish Airlines. Citizens who expressed a wish of departing from Ankara were provided with transport for moving to the airport in Istanbul.

The flight was carried out as part of the ongoing work to return citizens of Kyrgyzstan who are in foreign countries and are not able to return to our homeland due to the temporary closure of borders and the suspension of international passenger air traffic in connection with the pandemic of the coronavirus Covid-19.
