The meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbayev with compatriots and ethnic Kyrgyz living in Turkey

As part of the working visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslam Kazakbaev to the Republic of Turkey, on November 8, 2020, in Ankara, a meeting was held with compatriots who permanently and temporarily stay in Turkey.

During a long meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Nadira Dzhusupbekova, Minister Ruslan Kazakbayev explained in detail the current internal political situation in Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing that the ongoing political processes returned to the legal field.

Minister noted that the new Kyrgyz authorities headed by Prime Minister, Acting President Sadar Japarov, intend to carry out radical reforms in all spheres of state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic, including constitutional reforms, reforms of the judicial system and law enforcement agencies, education and health systems. Mr. Kazakbaev highlighted a firm position of the new Government in conducting an irreconcilable fight against corruption and crime.

Expressing gratitude to compatriots for the active support of the country during the peak of the spread of coronavirus infection in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as for participation in the meeting, Mr. Kazakbaev emphasized that the work of the Ministry and foreign institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic is primarily aimed at supporting Kyrgyz citizens staying abroad, creating favorable conditions for them to live, study and work.

During the meeting, the compatriots had the opportunity to discuss with the Minister concern and burning issues related to life and work in Turkey. A thorough exchange of views took place on the further development of Kyrgyz-Turkish relations, consular and legal support for Kyrgyz citizens in Turkey, as well as the forthcoming reforms of the state structure of Kyrgyzstan.

Representatives of the diaspora, including students, graduate students and teachers of Turkish higher educational institutions, announced their proposals on reforms in the education system of Kyrgyzstan, noted the need for the recognition of diplomas between countries, and also their proposals on changes in the electoral system of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is especially important on the eve of elections President scheduled for January 10, 2021.

Participants of the meeting also discussed issues of increasing the number of Kyrgyz students abroad, especially from the regions of Kyrgyzstan, optimizing the provision of consular services, considering the possibility of simplifying the procedures for obtaining visas and work permits between countries.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of ethnic Kyrgyz living in the Uluu Pamir village of Van province, with whom Minister Kazakbaev had a separate detailed conversation.

The Van Kyrgyz wished prosperity to the historical homeland and conveyed through Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic a written message and their wishes addressed to the Prime Minister, acting President Sadyr Japarov.
