On September 14, 2022, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Hungary H.E. Mr. Talantbek Kushchubekov met with the Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Mr. Vladimir Rakhmanin.

Ambassador T. Kushchubekov expressed his gratitude to FAO Assistant Director-General V. Rakhmanin for his continued assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic in improving agricultural, forestry and fish farming practices, efforts to ensure the healthy nutrition of the population and the country's food security.

It was noted that cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary in the field of agriculture is one of the priority and promising areas of mutual interest. The parties discussed the possibility of supplying high-quality cows to the Kyrgyz Republic to improve the number of cattle, the incubation of poultry hybrids, the organization of joint seed farms for the production of feed, the growing of hybrid varieties of corn and wheat, the cultivation of fish and the possible supply of agricultural equipment for dairy farms, poultry farms, fish farms.

Issues related to the planned organization of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian economic forum on agriculture in Bishkek were also discussed. A decision was made to organize and hold the forum jointly.

Within the framework of cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with international organizations, the Agenda of the upcoming 77th General Assembly of the United Nations was discussed regarding the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic to announce from 2023 to 2027 the fifth anniversary of the sustainable development of mountain regions and the possible contribution of FAO to the practical implementation of the plans laid down in the resolution of the General Assembly on this question.
