On February 11, 2021, the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN took part in the 59th session of the UN Commission for Social Development, dedicated to the priority theme of “Socially just transition toward sustainable development: the role of digital technologies on social development and the well-being of all”.

In her statement, Ms. Mirgul Moldoisaeva, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN, noted that The Kyrgyz Republic attaches priority importance to the issues of social development of the country, as a guarantee of the stable development of the well-being of the people.

Ms. Mirgul Moldoisaeva briefly informed about the work carried out by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in this area, in particular, about the changes in the procedure for the provision of public social services due to the digital transformation of public administration. In addition was noted, that the measures taken by country to digitalize social services have made it possible to strengthen the targeting of the received social services, eliminate red tape with receiving edits, reduce the time to receive services, and much more.

As a contribution to the further promotion of social justice and strengthening international cooperation on this issue, at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic and with the broad support of the UN member states on 26 November 2007, the General Assembly declared that, 20 February will be celebrated annually as the World Day of Social Justice.

In this regard, the Permanent Mission of Kyrgyzstan to the UN and the International Labor Organization will hold an event on the occasion of the Day of social justice.
