On March 7, 2022, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States Baktybek Amanbaev met with a delegation led by Ms. Lee Satterfield, Assistant Secretary of State  for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the level of bilateral cooperation between the U.S. and the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of education, and discussed promising areas for future cooperation. During the meeting, the U.S. side briefed participants on the various programs that the U.S. side has implemented in recent years.

The Ambassador spoke in detail about the government reforms taking place in the country under the leadership of President Sadyr Japarov, and the priorities and needs of the Kyrgyz Republic's education system. The Ambassador went on to say that improving the education system is an important priority for every country, and asked that consideration be given to increasing the number of places available to the Kyrgyz Republic through various educational programs such as Fulbright, FLEX, etc., and also suggested that consideration be given to launching new projects.

The U.S. expressed support for the proposed educational projects and agreed to work together to strengthen educational cooperation between the two countries in the future.
