U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and  Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu: Humanitarian aid will be provided to Batken region

On November 22, 2022 Ambassador Amanbaev met with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu. 
During the meeting participants discussed current and problematic issues of Kyrgyz-American bilateral relations, ways to resolve them and prospects for cooperation, taking into account interests and needs of the two countries. Ambassador Amanbaev emphasized the efforts of the Kyrgyz side to strengthen the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of the Kyrgyz Republic. 
Assistant Secretary Lu expressed that the United States is concerned about recent human rights violations in Kyrgyzstan.Donald Lu also added that the U.S. expects Kyrgyzstan to continue to build on the human rights achievements that the country has made over the past thirty years. Also, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu said that the U.S. side will soon provide humanitarian assistance to the affected citizens in the Batken region.
