On January 14, 2020, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Austria Bakyt Dzhusupov took part in the annual meeting of the President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen with ambassadors accredited in the Republic of Austria.

During the meeting, Bakyt Dzhusupov informed the Austrian President about the steps taken by both parties to further develop mutually beneficial partnerships between the two countries, briefly reported on the current domestic political and economic situation in Kyrgyzstan.

The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan informed the President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen about the Message of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Zheenbekov and the tasks assigned to the Foreign Ministry of the country. It was especially noted that ecological diplomacy was identified among the priorities and the new direction. The President of Austria expressed interest in the joint work of the two countries on climate change, environmental protection, in particular, combating the melting of glaciers, while confirming the similarity of Kyrgyzstan and Austria.
