Deputy Minister Aibek Moldogaziev met with Heads of OSCE institutions – Helga Maria Schmid, Teresa Ribeiro, Kairat Abdrakhmanov and Matteo Mecacci


On December 1, as part of his participation in the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Łódź, Deputy Minister Aibek Moldogaziev met with Heads of OSCE institutions – Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid, Representative on Freedom of the Media Teresa Ribeiro, High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov and the Director of the ODIHR Matteo Mecacci.

During the meetings, the issues of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE in three dimensions of security were discussed: political-military, economic and environmental, and human dimensions.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the achieved level of cooperation, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Aibek Moldogaziev expressed gratitude to the OSCE for supporting democratic processes, strengthening the stability and security of the country. He noted the relevance of the ongoing OSCE projects in such priority areas for the country as the fight against corruption and organized crime, digitalization and good governance, reform of the judiciary and law enforcement systems.

The OSCE representatives welcomed the high level of interaction within the OSCE and the achievements of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of democratization, improvement of electoral processes, the rule of law, freedom of speech and human rights, interethnic harmony, assuring them of further support within the three dimensions of the OSCE.

The issues of the regional agenda were also discussed, in particular, the integration processes in Central Asia, as well as the security challenges and threats facing the states of the region today, and the possibility of using the available OSCE tools and mechanisms to address them.
