On December 23, 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev met with the Ambassador of Hungary to the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Shandor Dorogi.

H.E. Mr. Shandor Dorogi presented copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev. H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the strategic partnership established with Hungary. He also noted with satisfaction the intensive cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with Hungary, which has developed in recent years on a bilateral basis and within the CCTS, and expressed his readiness to further strengthen cooperation.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev informed H.E. Mr. Shandor Dorogi about the internal political situation in Kyrgyzstan, the upcoming early presidential elections and the referendum on January 10, 2021. During the meeting, the sides also discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation: the organization of visits at the highest and high level to the Kyrgyz Republic, the creation of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian strategic council, the establishment of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Development Fund. Special attention was paid to the issues of trade and economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary. H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev stressed the importance of further work within the framework of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, in turn, H.E. Mr. Shandor Dorogi confirmed his readiness to create a Business Council with Hungary.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev also thanked the Hungarian side for the assistance and support provided to Kyrgyzstan within the EU and on a bilateral basis in the fight against coronavirus.
