On October 10-11, 2022 S. Cher-Niaz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to France, Permanent Delegate of Kyrgyzstan to UNESCO, took part in the plenary sessions of the 215th session of UNESCO's Executive Board in Paris.

In his speech S. Sher-Niaz stressed that in the context of current geopolitical and military-political processes and global challenges in stability, security and sustainable development the Kyrgyz Republic is convinced of the increasing role of UNESCO in building and maintaining peace, sustainable development, cooperation and broad international partnership based on solidarity, mutual respect, promotion of intercultural dialogue through the development of science and education. In this context he noted that the Kyrgyz Republic has always been in favor of resolving regional and international disputes exclusively through political and diplomatic means.

Also noted with satisfaction the successful holding by the Kyrgyz side in September 2022 during the 77th session of the UN General Assembly of the High-level Meeting on Sustainable Mountain Development, where a draft resolution of the UN General Assembly on declaring 2023-2027 was presented. The draft resolution of the UN General Assembly on declaring 2023-2027 as the "Decade of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions" was presented. In view of this, the Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to UNESCO Sher-Niaz invited UNESCO to act as the implementing body and "coordinating organization" of this resolution.

The 215th session will last until October 19, 2022.
