On November 29, 2022, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Germany Mr.O. Tekebaev met with the President of the West-Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau, Professor Stephan Kassel.

Ambassador Mr.O. Tekebaev noted with satisfaction that the Kyrgyz-German Institute of Applied Informatics in Bishkek, established in partnership with the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau, is one of the successful projects of the Kyrgyz-German cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. Cooperation between the two universities has been ongoing since 2004 to train specialists in the field of information technology.

The President Mr. Stephan Kassel noted that cooperation has been established between the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in the city of Zwickau and a number of universities in Kyrgyzstan. He positively noted the cooperation between the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in the city of Zwickau and the Kyrgyz-German Institute of Applied Informatics and said that in the future, the cooperation of the above German university with universities in Kyrgyzstan has good opportunities for expanding cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. During the meeting, the issue of recognition of double diplomas was also discussed.

During his stay at the university, Ambassador Mr.O.Tekebaev met with students from Kyrgyzstan studying at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau and wished them success in their studies. As noted during the meeting, Kyrgyz graduates in the field of information technology are in demand not only in Kyrgyzstan, but also in leading companies in Germany.

For reference: About 3,800 students from almost 50 countries study at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau. The university has eight faculties, which teach in 50 different areas. The cooperation of the Kyrgyz-German Institute of Applied Informatics (KGIPI) with the West-Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau is implemented on the basis of an Agreement between the former Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture. N.Isanova and the West-Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau from 2004. More than 100 students have studied at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau and are employed in Germany.
