On April 19, 2023, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. O. Tekebaev met with the 1st Burgomaster Mr. Frank Bauer in Grossweil, the Federal State of Bavaria. Issues of cooperation in the field of hydropower and tourism were discussed.

Ambassador Mr. O. Tekebaev visited the mine power plant in Loisach near Grossweil, which is successfully used in this area of Bavaria. Since the start of operation in 2020, the plant has so far produced more than 6.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, supplying clean energy to about 800 households.

Currently, the Technical University of Munich is coordinating the HYDRO4U project, which includes the construction of a two-megawatt mining power plant in Kyrgyzstan. One of the aims of the project is to develop, demonstrate and evaluate innovative European small hydropower technologies in Central Asia. This hydropower design is cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

During his stay in Grossweil, Ambassador Mr. O. Tekebaev also visited a social institution under the Red Cross of Bavaria and got acquainted with the work of this institution. During the meeting with Director Martin Herber, the Ambassador discussed issues of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan on employment of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in social institutions of Bavaria. The meeting was also attended by Kyrgyzstanis who have completed a three-year training and work in this institution.

The organization of the trip of Ambassador Mr. O. Tekebaev to Grossweil became possible with the assistance of our compatriot Bermet Abdrakhmanova, who lives in Germany and is the Public Representative of the Migration Council under the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic in Germany.
