Folk ensemble from Kyrgyzstan presented at several cultural events in India

From December 2 to 4, 2019 with the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in India, the “Cholpon” Folk Ensemble presented Kyrgyzstan at the 6th International Festival of Folk Dance and Music in New Delhi, India.

The event, organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), was also attended by representatives from Kazakhstan, Hungary, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Latvia, Armenia, South Africa, Uzbekistan, Morocco and Afghanistan.

The “Cholpon” folk ensemble from the Kyrgyz Republic, who became the youngest participants in the Festival, presented a concert program consisting of Kyrgyz national numbers to Indian and foreign audiences.

This festival was organized with the aim of developing and strengthening the cultural ties of different countries through folk dance and music, in which the participants gave the audience an atmosphere of mutual understanding and friendship between the countries.

The festival was attended by the Heads of diplomatic missions of participating countries, including the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to India Asein Isaev.

In addition, from December 5 to 7, 2019, at the invitation of the Indian side, the Cholpon ensemble took an active part in cultural events in Bopal, India and at the “Lovely Public Sr.Sec.”School in New Delhi.
